Decorative Upholstery Tack Nailer

TH-T-DECO1 Bulk-load, automatic-feeding pneumatic nailer for 7/16″ head × 1/2″ shank decorative tacks (a.k.a. 1009 nails). Drop a handful of loose tacks in the hopper — the tool feeds them automatically, dramatically faster than hand-tacking.

How it works

Pneumatic

A revolutionary, one-of-a-kind decorative tack nailer. Bulk-feed instead of strip-collated — load loose tacks, pull the trigger, repeat.

Drive · Pneumatic
Air · 6.7 CFM @ 90 PSI
Tack · 7/16″ head × 1/2″ shank
Feed · Bulk hopper

Uffy's bulk-load decorative tack nailer shoots the common 7/16″ head × 1/2″ shank tack (sometimes referred to as 1009 nails) and most other tacks that fit within the specification drawing.

Place a handful of loose decorative tacks in the hopper — the tool automatically feeds them, dramatically reducing project completion time versus hand-tacking.

Any generic tack within the parameters of the pictured guide will function. Most users will find 7/16″ head and 1/2″ shank tacks readily available; we recommend our own nails for best results.

Operating Notes & Troubleshooting

FAQ

Air-supply requirements, tack-finish behavior in the hopper, and the spare parts most likely to be needed in service.

  • Air Supply

The tool requires a compressor that can produce at least 6.7 CFM @ 90 PSI.

This is a different rating than horsepower — no conversion from horsepower to CFM should be used. Check the manufacturer's specifications.

  • Tack Finish

French natural and antique brass tacks run through the tool without scratching — an inherent nonconformity in their design prevents marring.

Matte and polished tacks may scratch in the tool, because the tornado effect inside the hopper can cause tack points to knock into each other.

    • In many cases, fewer tacks in the hopper resolves this.
    • We have not yet found a matte-black tack that runs without scratching — use a gunmetal tack instead.
  • Recommended Spares

The tool generally doesn't require many spares, but international buyers should keep a small kit on hand. Drops onto a hard surface from height can damage the collet assembly — the parts below cover the most common failure mode.

  • Tack Compatibility

Verify your tacks fall within the dimensional envelope shown to the right in the nail size specification drawing before ordering. Any tack meeting those parameters should function in the TH-T-DECO1.
